Leaks Fixed Since 2007

Our highly trained technicians have been specializing in finding and fixing leaks for over 35 years in Polk County. When you call us, we get the job done.

In the beginning, it was one truck and 1 family. We have grown over the years and now have 5 trucks and 6 families.

From Sweethearts to Business Owners

I am David Burnsed and this is my wife Kim. We are high school sweethearts that have been married since 1991. Kim moved here from Texas when she was in high school, and I am a Lakeland Native that has lived and worked here my entire life. We have 2 awesome Daughters and one perfect Granddaughter. We both have been working in the pool industry since 1992.

In 2007, we started Polk County Leak Detection. We have been serving Polk and surrounding areas ever since. We started with me in an old truck and Kim running the office and raising our kids. We have been blessed to continue to grow. Our Daughter Libby is in the office answering the phones and getting everyone scheduled. We now have 5 trucks on the road and the most amazing team/family.

Approximately 95% of the jobs we do are either a referral from a pool company or a previous customer. We are a state licensed and fully insured.

Polk County Leak Detection is a local small business that supports 7 families.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. David and his team did an outstanding job restoring our 1980s in-ground spa. It had been leaking for some time and was barely functioning, and they brought it fully back to life by replacing all of the plumbing, which was no easy task and required concrete slab removal and replacement. It now runs as well as the day it was built. This wasn’t our first time working with them: over the years we’ve called on them for a variety of pool issues, and every time they’ve arrived on schedule and resolved the problem completely. Their reliability, skill, and professionalism are second to none. We recommend David and his team without hesitation to anyone needing pool or spa service.

Verified I've called Polk County Leak Detection on two different occasions and both times they were quick to respond, friendly and professional. Everyone in the organization I have had contact with has been knowledgeable and helpful. From the initial phone call to the finished work they are all first rate at what they do and a pleasure to deal with. Problems are identified quickly and work I feared would take a few days was done in hours. I can't say enough good things.

Both times I have dealt with them they...

1. Told me what they were going to do.
2. Did it.

How about that?

I would recommend them without hesitation and will call again if I need more done.

Verified i recommend Polk County Leak Detector to anyone needing to find your leak and repair. Always on time, amazing job, very friendly staff. Have used them twice. Once shortly after pool was built and today. Thor checked entire pool for leaks and repaired. Found a couple we never would have thought to check. Quality work, giving a warranty on their work. Don't take shortcuts, hire this company for your inspection and repair. Highly Recommend.

Verified I can't say enough good things about Polk County Leak Detection. From the polite and friendly office staff to the specialists who came to my home to find what became a very challenging leak to find. Their 90 day guarentee is amazing as it took several times to find the problem. Their team of Austin & Dylan would not rest until the mystery of my swimming pool leak was solved. Austin phoned me several times checking up on the leak and returned to my house on several occasions promptly. I would definitely recommend them as their price was very fair and affordable.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Angie's List. This company is the real deal. For some time our pool had lost water steadily so that we needed to add water once or twice a year. Other pool maintenance companies had told us not to worry. It was the time of the year, too cold, too hot, evaporation was normal. Kim, one of the co-owners, arranged for David to come and check. We were told exactly what it would cost and were guaranteed if there was a leak it would be found. If the repair was to be extensive they would leave us with an estimate for the work - no pressure. David arrived on the expected day, after calling to confirm what time he was going to be there. He spent about an hour and found a small seepage in the skimmer area but was not satisfied and continued to inspect, using a variety of listening and testing devices. He then showed us exactly where the leak was by using some dye. There was NO DOUBT water was escaping in a 90 degree area of the pool walls where some of the epoxy had worn away. I have a 90-day warranty but it has been 8 days and we have not had to add water to the pool. Problem solved. Trust these people, they do exactly what they offer.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Angie's List. Upon arrival they did cursory inspections of the light fixtures etc and then used a sound detection sensor to sweep the pool and locate the leek at the main drain. They then removed a stripped screw and did an epoxy patch of the screw hole. No adverse cosmetic effect and the leak has disappeared. The team was professional, informative and friendlywith their approach to our problem.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Angie's List. Extremely knowledgeable. Did not try to oversell anything. We made the appointment about two weeks out from the initial leak detection appointment. My husband and I are new pool owners and were quite worried about this and he made sure to answer any question we had.
