In the beginning, it was one truck and 1 family. We have grown over the years and now have 5 trucks and 6 families.

From Sweethearts to Business Owners

I am David Burnsed and this is my wife Kim. We are high school sweethearts that have been married since 1991. Kim moved here from Texas when she was in high school, and I am a Lakeland Native that has lived and worked here my entire life. We have 2 awesome Daughters and one perfect Granddaughter. We both have been working in the pool industry since 1992.

In 2007, we started Polk County Leak Detection. We have been serving Polk and surrounding areas ever since. We started with me in an old truck and Kim running the office and raising our kids. We have been blessed to continue to grow. Our Daughter Libby is in the office answering the phones and getting everyone scheduled. We now have 5 trucks on the road and the most amazing team/family.

Approximately 95% of the jobs we do are either a referral from a pool company or a previous customer. We are a state licensed and fully insured.

Polk County Leak Detection is a local small business that supports 7 families.

Meet the Team

Libby

This is Libby, she’s the one you’ll talk to on the phone! Born and raised in Polk County, She loves calling the Swan city home. Outside of the office she is normally spending time with her family, playing around in the kitchen, or exploring the beauty of Florida nature.

Shane

Shane is our Field Manager. He was born and raised in the hills of Dalton, Georgia. He is a Proud father of five awesome kids. He enjoys spending his free time with his family. We have the privilege of having Shane at Polk County Leak Detection for 10+ years. He enjoys solving problems and is the quarterback of this team!

Steve

This is Steve. Born in Tampa, Steve has been plumbing homes and swimming pools for about 5 years now. He takes pride in supporting his family of 6. His wife and children are Haitian American. They enjoy Caribbean style barbecues on the weekends as well as trips to water parks when they can. To quote Steve, “Every job I do, I do it to the standards that my family would accept and be happy with, and that kind of quality service is the only thing we provide at Polk County Leak Detection. always a pleasure.”

Steve has an amazing attitude that brings anyone around him up and we are blessed to have him!

Kyle

This is Kyle, he was born in Carrolton, Ga. He went in the Navy right out of high school.
He is a combat veteran and we could not be anymore proud to have him as part of our team. He is energetic and has an awesome attitude. He Loves spending time with his fiancé Jackie and his 4 cats. He enjoys Fishing and diving.

Austin

This is Austin, He was born, raised and still lives in the Lake Wales area. He has a wife and a daughter. You will never meet anyone like him, the way he loves his family and does everything he can possibly do to support them is so nice to see. He is an example of what his generation should be. Austin enjoys taking his family Hunting and fishing.
